I specialize in work with children, adolescent and young adults. My experience has been working in an intensive outpatient program with adolescents presenting with symptoms of depression, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation/attempt, anxiety, oppositional behavior, substance abuse, physical aggression and anger management. I also worked in a DBT adolescent transitional living program. I currently work as a chronic pain and addiction residential counselor with adults.
I received my B.S in Psychology and M.S in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Bridgeport. I hold a certificate from the National Institute of Health in Protecting Human Research Participants. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association, School Volunteer Association of Bridgeport, and National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi.
My education and training helps clients to regulate their emotions and behaviors, gain awareness and insight into their lives, and improve relationships. I started Jewel of Joy Counseling Services with a commitment to help others. I provide service with empathy, compassion, ethical and culturally sensitive care, in a safe, non-judgmental and helpful environment.
