Jamaica on my Mind
Over the years we have served numerous clients from Jamaica, mandated to therapy by the court, school, the Department of Children and Family or after an inpatient hospitalization. We have noticed that most often, at the core is an unresolved trauma or untreated mental health condition. It has been a privilege serving our clients and we are honored to be the counselors of choice for Jamaicans in our community.
As we continue to grow our practice we are looking to expand our services to citizens of Jamaica.
Having strong ties in Jamaica we are exploring a client base there who can visit one of the three states in America that we are licensed in to receive mental health services with a strong theoretical approach and structured sessions. Clients will be responsible for having their own sponsor and filing all necessary papers to secure a visitor's visa.
We are motivated to help Jamaicans to effectively cope with their distress, traumas, manage intense emotions and have positive interpersonal relationships
Our objectives are to
Help trauma survivors cope effectively with their trauma
Identify citizens that can benefit from mental health services abroad
Provide mental health services for clients who travel to United States on a visitors visa
Provide specific coping skills for intense negative emotions
Decrease suicidal thoughts, homicidal thoughts, and self harm behaviors (i.e cutting, pulling out hair, picking)
Help client live an emotionally stable and mentally healthy adult life
